Roeland supports the Ventures team in its mission to build ventures that take a systems approach to transforming key sectors of our economic system. As a project developer, he helps design innovative projects focused on systemic entrepreneurship and leverages his track record in business development to secure funding for these initiatives. 

Born in the Netherlands but raised in Germany and Switzerland, Roeland moved back to the Netherlands to pursue a Bachelor’s in Future Planet Studies at the University of Amsterdam. After volunteering for an environmental NGO in Iceland, he furthered his academic exploration of systems thinking and sustainability with a Master’s in Sustainable Business and Innovation at the University of Utrecht.

After graduating, Roeland worked as an innovation consultant in Barcelona, focusing on conceptualizing, funding, and managing transnational EU-funded projects dedicated to sustainability and innovation in the public transport sector. Outside of work, Roeland enjoys camping, hiking in the mountains, and making music.
