Andrei operates Metabolic’s greenhouse and aquaponics system, at the cleantech playground, De Ceuvel. Using aquaculture and hydroponics, Andrei is researching the potential symbiosis between plants and fish, to deliver healthy foods without the use of pesticides or chemicals. 

Growing food has always been a central part of his life and he believes growing healthy produce is essential to healthy living and well-being. Andrei grew up in Romania and moved to Western Europe to study Community Tourism. He noticed a low availability of fresh and healthy produce and missed the flavors of local foods back home.

Since joining Metabolic, Andrei has been embarking on a journey of trial and error – continuously developing the aquaponics greenhouse to inspire the spread of commercially viable aquaponics food production systems.
