Emma is a designer with a knack for collaboratively creating intuitive, enjoyable user experiences by simplifying complexity in social innovation spaces. At Metabolic, she contributes her design expertise to our Institute and, in particular, the NetZeroCities project, supporting European cities in their transition to carbon neutrality.
With a Master’s in Visual Communication Design, a Bachelor of Design, and a Bachelor of Commerce from New Zealand, Emma has spent the past five years working on transformation projects to support citizens and communities to thrive. Her efforts have focused on improving democratic accessibility to drive citizen change, building trust between communities and public institutions, and developing national services for crisis support.
For Emma, sustainability is about systems change and empowering individuals to make choices that benefit both their physical and intangible environments. Emma’s design practice is driven by working within complex spaces, uniting individual and collective action to create a more open, accessible, and sustainable world.
